With Christmas right around the corner, many of us are scrambling to decorate our home and buy presents for loved ones. Many of us will also be hosting Holiday or Christmas Dinner. Don’t underestimate how impactful your table setting can be towards your holiday decorating. Save yourself time without breaking the bank by using these simple tips for decorating your Holiday themed table this year.

There are three main categories for setting your table. The initial layer, what your will put your food in, and decorations.

For the initial layer, consider using tablecloths, placemats and napkins. The great part about this step is that you can use all of these items or any combination of them. So, if you don’t have all on hand, feel free to just one or two of them. Cloth materials tend to look nicer than paper, but go with what you have on hand.

Layer two is arguably the most important layer because dishes are where the food goes! Consider using China to dress your table setting up. Many of us have china that is rarely used, so why not break it out and make the meal a little more festive? Glassware is a staple and wine glasses specifically can be used for any kind of drinks – wine, water, eggnog, etc.

Lastly, you have accessories. This is the part that makes the table unique and festive. Consider using holiday inspired floral decor for your centerpieces. You can even put flowers in a glass pitcher or bowl. Candles make for a great table accent piece too. Choose one with a holiday scent or color. Want to be extra attentive? Add in menu or place cards!
